EnergySolutions recently completed a ground breaking project for the Environment Agency to recycle in America more than 100 radioactively contaminated World War II aircraft hatches that couldn’t be handled in the UK.

We identified the most environmentally-sensitive and cost-effective approach to safely dealing with the hatches that were eventually shipped to EnergySolutions’ Bear Creek facility for metal melting.
